Keyboard shortcuts are the primary way to interact with Invisly during an assessment. Using shortcuts keeps your hands on the keyboard, reduces visible mouse movement, and lets you show or hide the interface in an instant. Every core action has a shortcut — learn them before exam day so the interactions feel natural under pressure.Documentation Index

Essential shortcuts
These are the shortcuts you will use most often during an active session.| Action | Windows | macOS |
|---|---|---|
| Capture screen for analysis | Ctrl + H | Cmd + H |
| Activate click mode | Ctrl + M | Cmd + M |
| Deactivate and hide the interface | Ctrl + N | Cmd + N |
| Quick toggle show/hide | Ctrl + B | Cmd + B |
Ctrl/Cmd + B) is your most important shortcut. Press it once to show the interface and again to hide it completely. Use it immediately if someone approaches your screen.
Capture (Ctrl/Cmd + H) takes a snapshot of your coding environment and sends it for AI analysis. You do not need to select or highlight anything first — Invisly captures the relevant context automatically.
Click mode (Ctrl/Cmd + M) lets you interact with the overlay using your mouse without accidentally clicking through to your editor behind it.
Advanced shortcuts
Use these shortcuts for overlay and window management.| Action | Windows | macOS |
|---|---|---|
| Hide all overlays | Ctrl + Shift + H | Cmd + Shift + H |
| Reset interface position | Ctrl + Shift + R | Cmd + Shift + R |
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + H) dismisses every visible Invisly element at once. Use this when you need to clear the screen quickly without toggling individual panels.
Reset position (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R) snaps the interface back to its default position if you have moved it off screen or into an inconvenient location.
If a shortcut conflicts with a binding in your code editor, you can reassign it in Invisly’s settings. Open the settings panel and navigate to the shortcuts section to customize any key combination. Choose alternatives that do not overlap with editor actions you use frequently.
