Invisly is built to stay out of your way. The interface is fully customizable so you can tune it to your screen size, working style, and comfort level. You control how visible the overlay is when active, where it sits on screen, how large it appears, and which key combinations trigger each action. Configure these settings before your assessment so you are not adjusting anything under time pressure.

Discreet operation

Invisly’s core design principle is leaving no visible trace when you do not need it:
  • Quick toggle — Press Ctrl/Cmd + B to show or hide the entire interface instantly.
  • Complete disappearance — When hidden, the interface leaves no visual trace on screen: no icon, no border, no indicator of any kind.
  • Smooth transitions — Show and hide animations are deliberately subtle to avoid drawing attention.
Position the overlay in a corner of your screen — ideally a corner away from your webcam’s field of view. A corner position makes the interface easy to glance at while keeping your primary work area clear, and it gives you a predictable location to look at without moving your eyes far from your code.

Display settings

Adjust how opaque or transparent the interface appears when it is visible. A higher opacity makes code snippets and explanations easier to read. A lower opacity lets your work show through the overlay, which can be useful when you want to reference both the solution and your own code at the same time.Set transparency based on your situation:
  • Higher opacity — easier to read solution details and syntax-highlighted code
  • Lower opacity — more discreet; allows your editor to remain visible beneath the overlay
Drag the interface to any location on your screen. The overlay is free-floating and does not snap to a fixed location unless you reset it. Place it wherever it is least intrusive given your editor layout and screen arrangement. If you move the interface off screen or into an awkward position, press Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R to reset it to its default location.
Resize the interface to match your screen resolution and how much content you want visible at once. A smaller overlay is more discreet but may require scrolling through longer solution steps. A larger overlay is easier to read but takes up more of your working area.Scale the interface to a size where you can read syntax-highlighted code comfortably without it dominating your screen.
Show and hide transitions use subtle animations by default. These are intentionally low-key to avoid drawing attention when the interface appears or disappears. The transitions are brief — fast enough to hide quickly if needed, smooth enough not to create a jarring visual flash.

Interaction preferences

Every Invisly action is bound to a keyboard shortcut, and you can reassign any combination that conflicts with your editor. Open the settings panel and navigate to the shortcuts section to view and edit bindings. When choosing custom combinations, pick shortcuts that:
  • Do not conflict with editor commands you use frequently
  • Are easy to press one-handed so you can trigger them quickly
  • Feel distinct from your normal typing so you do not trigger them accidentally
Choose how you prefer to initiate a screen capture and analysis. The default is the Ctrl/Cmd + H shortcut, but you can configure an alternative combination in settings if the default conflicts with another tool in your environment.
Manage how Invisly notifies you when analysis is complete. You can configure whether a subtle visual indicator appears when results are ready, and control the timing and style of any status updates. During proctored sessions, keep notifications minimal to avoid unexpected visual changes on screen.
